2010 Bug Camp Pages

Mississippi State University Extension Services (MSU Cares) presents Bug Camp 2010!

Bug Camp 2010 will return to Mississippi State’s campus this year and we will be only hosting one. Mark your calendars - June 13-17, 2010. And, after too long of an absence, Dr. Jerome Goddard is back! He has recently joined the MSU Entomology and Plant Pathology Department and we are looking forward to his humorous sessions and briefing on medical entomological topics. No doubt we will see some old timers returning for this. We will be making a few trips to the Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge to collect and there are some other activities we have never done before that we are working on, that I am sure you will not want to miss.

  • $300 per person for family units [child(ren) / parent(s) / guardian(s)]

  • You are only required to pay a deposit at this time ($100 per person). This deposit is non-refundable.

  • We are seeking parents/teachers to serve as dorm monitors at each camp (one male and one female monitor per camp). Dorm monitors must have a child enrolled in the camp for which they serve as monitor, must be present for the entire camp, and must stay in the dorms at night to supervise campers (males for male dorms, females for female dorms). A discount will be applied to the camp fees of adults serving as monitors. We will be posting pages again this year as the photos com in!  Parents, if you would like any photos from bug camp posted on this site to share with the other kids and parents, please send them to the webmaster...  Tim Groman, 2321 Palm Cir, Seabrook, TX 77586.  CD-Rom, DVD, or e-mailed photos will be posted as we have in the past.  Full size resolution photos are posted for the first 10 months then reduced in size to make space for the next years collection of photos.
